LONDON, Ont. London’s police chief is downplaying fears that a dispute between two rival biker gangs has spilled onto the streets of the southern Ontario city.
Chief Brad Duncan says there is no information to connect a shooting and several recent fires with the Hells Angels and Outlaws motorcycle clubs.
A Hells Angels member is in serious condition after he was shot early Wednesday morning near a house on Grey Street where bikers are known to meet.
A woman also shot in the incident has been treated and released from hospital.

Over the weekend, fires were set at a tattoo parlour linked to the Outlaws and two massage parlours and a strip club that are connected to the Hells Angels.

LONDON, Ont. London, Ont., police say overnight fires at two massage parlours and a strip club are considered suspicious.
Fire crews were called to the three businesses on Dundas Street, Oxford Street East and Clarke Road just before 5 a.m. today.
Const. Amanda Van Doren says police aren’t sure the incidents are connected.
The force’s arson squad and the Ontario fire marshal’s office are investigating.
Authorities say no one was injured.

London Massage Parlors: Massage parlours, strip club torched in London

LONDON, ONT. – A massage parlour and strip club were hit in three separate fires Sunday morning in London, Ont.
The three fires were reported within minutes of each other and are being investigated by London police and fire departments.
Flesh Gordon’s on Dundas St. and Blue Lagoon massage parlor on Oxford St. were two of the businesses hit by fire.
The fires at separate locations in London were called in at 4:40 a.m., 5:04 a.m. and 5:15 a.m.
A London police spokesperson said all the fires involved businesses and police have no damage estimate yet.
“Obviously we are in the preliminary stages of the investigation,” said Const. Amanda Van Doren.
Police are continuing to secure all three sites.

The Hackney Citizen was nominated for the Newspaper Awards ‘Best Use of New Media’ category, whilst the council’s freesheet Hackney Today won the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Local Public Services’ ‘external newspaper or magazine of the year’ award.
Hackney Council once again graced Private Eye’s Rotten Boroughs page, bagging an award for ‘Moral Guardians of the Year’ for “outlawing strip shows in pubs while doing nothing about actual brothels masquerading as ‘massage parlours’” (see above).
