22.09.2009 One of the most infamous financial scandals in recent decades may soon be getting a big-screen airing as it has emerged that Sony has bought the rights to a play about Enron currently running in London.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Sony has scooped up Lucy Prebble’s Enron, which has just started playing at the Royal Court Theatre in London and will run until 7 November.
The Reporter say that Prebble (pictured) herself will be adapting the play for the big screen.
Prebble’s Enron has received favourable reviews from UK critics. Michael Billington in the Guardian described it as “hugely ambitious play”, “an exhilarating mix of political satire, modern morality and multimedia spectacle”.
Prebble is also the creator of the series Secret Diaries of a Call Girl, starring Billie Piper in the main role.
