Dr Adam Osborne wrote a prescription for the escort girl, with whom he was having a relationship with, using a false name so he could not be connected to her.
After failing to obtain anti-psychotic medication at a hospital pharmacy he took the woman to a shop chemist where getting the medication was easier.
The 33-year-old was found guilty of serious misconduct by the General Medical Council for acting in a “misleading” and “dishonest” manner.
He has been suspended for six months.
The panel ruled that the gravity of his failings meant that an extension of the condition under which Dr Osborne is currently allowed to work would not be in the public interest.

The charges relating to the escort girl, referred to throughout the hearing as Miss B, stem from an encounter in May 2008.
