LONDON (Dow Jones)–U.K.-based services provider Serco Group PLC (SRP.LN) Monday said it saw good activity levels in the first half, having been selected on over GBP2 billion contracts, and is on track to deliver on its guidance for 2009.
The company said it continues to see significant opportunities to help customers deliver value for money services in the current challenging economic environment, with a high level of activity in bidding across all markets and regions.

Investors welcomed the news and at 0817 GMT, Serco shares were up 2% or 8 pence at 422p in a broadly higher London market.
