The demonstration followed Camden Council’s decision to class burlesque performances as part of the adult entertainment industry.
Venues must now apply for an updated licence usually associated with lap dancing clubs, which could involve fees and has led to some performances being cancelled.
The women, dressed in full burlesque costume, set out from the Covent Garden branch of lingerie boutique, Coco-de-mer before marching to Camden Town Hall.
Sam Roddick, daughter of late Body Shop founder Dame Anita Roddick and founder of Coco-de-mer, said: “We cannot have laws that are based on ignorance. Burlesque is not part of the adult entertainment industry.

“Strip clubs are run by men and frequented by men, they are run with the intent to create sexual arousal. That’s not the case with burlesque.
