David Bedella, who won the 2004 Beset Actor Olivier Award for creating the role of Satan/Warm-up Man in Jerry Springer the Opera, is returning to the role of Frank ‘n’ Furter for a new U.K. tour of Richard O’Brien’s cult 1973 musical The Rocky Horror Show, beginning performances at London’s Wimbledon Theatre from Sept. 17.


According to press materials, The Rocky Horror Show tells the story of engaged sweethearts Brad and Janet who are forced to seek refuge in a castle full of the maddest, baddest and sexiest group the world has ever seen. Written by Richard O’Brien, the score features such songs as “Sweet Transvestite,” “Damit Janet” and “The Time Warp.” The show premiered at the Royal Court’s Theatre Upstairs in June 1973, and was subsequently made into a film in 1975, in which O’Brien himself playd Riff Raff. He is also presented the TV show “The Crystal Maze.” In August, he will star in a new show The Stripper, a pulp fiction thriller, that he has also written lyrics for and will be premiered at Hornchurch’s Queen’s Theatre, beginning performances Aug. 29.
